PRESIDENTIAL ADRESS

youforpresident.tumblr.com, thats where it was at, until i found out that it's not quite easy to navigate around an unusual environment, so i have come back home, blogger, i needed familiarity, must say, its good to be back.....now that I have done the brief history lesson, let me explain what this blog is all about........YOU FOR PRESIDENT is an opportunity for everyone to express their views and make suggestions in matters that concern them, wether it is directly or indirectly, this blog is just not political its about YOU!! being in power, if you were granted with all the power in your household, family, social circles, company, country, the continent, the world or the whole universe for that matter, to make a positive change and create a happy and functional environment....remember that weekends where you would have the whole house to yourself?? what did you do with them??? what did you get up to?what did it feel like to be on top??

  2. If I was a ceo of a company, I would begin by removing all names and titles that are drilled on people's doors. It's an office, not your customised car!

  3. lol!! Mr.G.Ripewater, are you trying to tell me something????huh?, ya, i will look out for your blog, hey, who knows maybe google might do something about the spelling issue, Wamoronjia, i so get what you you are saying, titles and name on the doors also lead to Ego eruptions, and sometimes people and up concentrating on title management rather than the job itself.

  4. Sorry for joining this blog so late. I found my way here eventually!

T, I have a very unique story about what I would do if I had "The Power". It's funny that you should invite me to participate because politics was something that I wanted to get involved in from a very young age - although at the time I wasn't aware of the subject name. I understand that the intention has nothing to do with being the president directly, but here's the story.

I vividly remember telling my two main surrogate mothers (AKA my absolutely incredible domestic workers), when I was about 5 years old, that I had just awoken up from this dream where I was in charge of the country - a dictator type figure who had absolute power.

Naturally - as a five year old does - I thought absolute power meant you had reached the top of the food chain, and in my ignorant bliss, I used every part of this privilege to my advantage.

What was disturbing was how violent I was and how much what I did in my dream resembled the terror and brutality of pre-democratic South Africa. The interesting twist was that this vigilante persona which I played was the most idealistic yet fair citizen you would ever meet. Race, religion, background, culture. Non of this mattered to this 5 year old terrorist.

Hard to believe, I know. But the vividness often makes me feel as though I could still make out what smells I had imagined these scenes to have.

It's just interesting to revisit these memories. Particularly in a time where South Africa's political unrest seems to be higher than ever in our democratic history.

Makes me think what that little boy would have done to the Eugene Terreblanches and Malemas of this country.

Some personal food for thought:-) Hope this doesn't bore anyone.

    Peace
